Night Coverage Area

K A A Y has coverage maps for both day and night. It is a characteristic of AM Radio that after sundown the ionosphere is able to bounce the signal back to earth, significantly increasing a station's coverage area. K A A Y has a directional pattern at night which is designed to protect stations on the same or adjacent AM frequencies. Atmospheric conditions make a big difference in AM reception, particularly at night. These maps illustrate K A A Y's signal strength under normal conditions, but at any given time the signal in a particular location may be stronger or weaker than indicated by these maps.
